Why We Exist
LEA are animated Kenya Sign Language videos scripted in a fun, educational interactive format targeting 0 - 5 years preschoolers and their families. The uniqueness of LEA is the use of Wadi, the first-ever Deaf Cartoon Character in Kenya. Wadi is a 3-year-old Deaf girl and a Sign Language Champion who will be teaching Kenyan Sign Language
Baby Signing Events.
These are child-friendly events for families with deaf children curated to provide a space to grow, learn, and make new friends. The events range from baby signing competition, baby signing festival, and baby signing family fun day. These events are also open to families with an objective to provide an integrated space and break down sign language learning myths.
Designed to provide space for Deaf children and their parents to meet, share, and learn together. The meetings are scheduled twice per month and on a needs basis. We host sign language classes, psychosocial sessions, learning, and loving session, and a prototype center for animations and other innovations. The Hub is located at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital-Muthaiga.
